Illustrator – Animator – Designer

Hello there!

I am Kerstin Buzelan, also known as “Noody”, a versatile freelance designer from Germany, who focuses on fun and creative projects.

I knew from a young age that drawing and designing was what I wanted to do. I decided to go to a school which put the emphasis on art, even though it meant I had to leave my hometown. There I discovered that my true passion was animation and game development. There were no universities offering what I was looking for, so I decided to study communication design and focus my studies on animation and comics for now.

I was lucky to get an internship at a renowned video game developer company in Hamburg and even spent half a year studying abroad in Japan, in the land of videogames and animation. To finish my studies I’ve got a master’s degree in games at the HAW Hamburg. Meanwhile I was already freelancing for various gaming companies in Germany and gained a lot of experience there.

Since 2011 I have been part of many different productions, most of them were very creative and exciting to work on. I had to adapt to many different styles and learned the specific rules that come with making animations and graphics for video games. I was lucky enough to work with some of the best people in the German gaming industry and learn from them.

My biggest expertise is in the field of point and click adventures and story-based games. I have a strong knowledge of animation in game engine friendly software like Adobe Photoshop CC and Esoteric Software’s Spine. I also know a little bit about working directly in Unity.

But I also really enjoy drawing and especially designing new characters. For me the variety of tasks is what makes being a freelancer so interesting.

I love being able to work with different people from different areas and finding solutions together. That way we can use our combined creative power to create just the right end product.
